Benalmadena Information

Benalmadena is one of the Costa del Sol’s newest and fastest growing resorts and has become recently one of the most popular tourist destinations.

This town in the province of Malaga is situated between Torremolinos and Fuengirola. Phoenician, Carthaginian, Roman, Visigoth and Arab influences have all shaped Benalmadena, which consists of three areas: Benalmadena Village, in the mountains, Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena Costa, a first-class tourist resort.

Tapas bars, a wide range of cuisine and the open character of the people make this town a fun place to be with a nightlife which is second to none. The beaches, Bil-Bil castle and the delightful marina, declared one of the world's finest for its housing complex, make Benalmadena a charming place to spend a holiday.

The area is centred around two main parts which are within a short distance of each other: the village and Arroyo de la Miel set up in the mountain and Benalmadena Costa on the coast.

The village is the administrative centre for the area and has preserved its traditional quiet character, although there are many new developments around it. Services in Benalmadena are excellent and there are numerous amenities, including excellent sport facilities. An indoor pool and ice-skating rink are currently under construction.
